Brilliant piece, Darran. I stumbled upon Poelzig’s “stalactites” while reading on German geological imagery (from Novalis to Benn)
The Alhambra has similar ceiling and column motifs. I believe they were calling them muqarna ceilings. They're selfsupported amazingly
