Triangulation is probably the most complex and crucial method of surveying. It's used to determine the location of a point by measuring angles to it rather than distances (a process that's known as trilateration)

What baffles me here is the difference between France and Germany/Austria/Swiss/Spain. I mean, yes the Alps exist, but it's not like France is a flat country either
