The Pemon and Kapon tribes call Mount Roraima “Tepui”, i.e. House of Gods. They believe it is the stump of an ancient giant tree that once held all the fruits and vegetables of the world until it was felled by the trickster god, Makunaima, causing a terrible flood

Thought the same thing - was thinking of Disney’s Up - but looked it up and Angel Falls seem to be on a separate mountain Auyán Tepui.
