Yes, that too. . . More generally, I would say the answer to the fear of absolute disaster, therefore the creation of functional spaces for the protection (also metaphorically) of the "free world" from the collective incineration and extinction

I grew up in West Germany and have different view: after the War and "Germany Above Everything", modernity was welcomed. Modern art was welcomed. Corbusier's style was accepted as necessary to go past tradition. I never had feeling in church of space for protection from bombs.
