This instantly conjured up a question of "how could such a thing get in such a place if it were to happen?". I thought of these and other massive ships, hosting populations fleeing drowned continents, left landlocked when the waters mysteriously began to unexpectedly recede...

The refugees would make their way out, begin to tend the soil and grow food, and eventually the ship-city would be built upon, a once-waterborne core passing into functional legend, harboring mysteries of exploration for the young-and-too-curious descendants.
