The only man who has ever visited Dune...
Frank Herbert did not only praise his illustrations as 'careful and accurate', he was so impressed with them that he once referred to Schoenherr as 'the only man who has ever visited Dune'

Very hyped for this, I don’t think it could be in better hands than Villenueve’s

the film might be good, but the trailer reminded me of the new star wars movies; the cgi castles, sand storm, etc, we've seen countless of times and they look like shit

I like those golden translucent veils around 1:07, and that handful of sand that glitters with spice.

i think villeneuve is swinging for the fences, and i think he's going to succeed. trailer tells me he really gets the spiritual intention of the material, and that's his trademark. epic pink floyd chorus blew my mind.

one tiny complaint.
the armor and uniforms look too much alike IMO. they are not distinct enough.. they don't scream harkonnen, freman or atreides.
i'm 99.2% hyped..not 100%

Lynch need to put back the hour or two the studio cut from his Dune but he will not because he is Lynch. Nevertheless he made a masterpiece and if you read the book he nailed the story - even in the studio's bastardised cut.

The trailer feels like typical Hollywood "space action film" and didn't showcase the complicated politics of the book at all
