Son of a renowned furniture designer & Art Nouveau artist, Louis Majorelle (1859–1926), Jacques created a colour, a dark cornflower blue, with which he painted the walls, the large terracotta pots and the fountain in his villa in Marrakesh—a colour he humbly named Majorelle blue
