YouTube can't be bothered to hire a sufficiently sized team of editors to deal with these issues. They insist on being cheap and relying on algorithms.

They shouldn’t be editorializing anyway. They claim to be an open platform. They can’t be both an open platform and a curated platform.

Sure, they don’t have any obligation to pay/monetize. But I don’t think they should be removing videos because of “bad speech” or “offensive speech.”

I agree that removing videos should be much more limited (e.g., snuff films, financial scams, etc.). The history professor getting banned is ridiculous. I don't think a professional editor would have made that bad call.
