An anonymous account made a baseless claim that they were able to access the contents of private group chats on Telegram. No such vulnerability has ever been found. This is likely a hoax with the intent to get users to download malware.

Is this your view or do you know it's a hoax for sure?
This is my view (based on the fact that it is technically impossible at a protocol level to look into private Telegram groups), but there is always the chance that it could be real. Very unlikely though.

theres nothing technically impossible about this, similar exploits were available abusing group previews. Nothing is encrypted in telegram groups, it's only a matter of time until someone else gets acceas to all telegram chat data, but it likely already happened anyway.
