Actually now that I think about it, no! We have thought about Merkle+STARK as the post-quantum backup but not Verkle+SNARK.

Complexity. Never a good sign when devs cannot express themselves simply. It indicates a lack of deep understanding and convoluted thinking. Or it might just be an obfuscation strategy...
