This tweet did not age well. The guy who wrote this? His buggy code was committed into Mirror Protocol in June 2021, creating a hole that allowed an attacker to drain $88m from users just a few months later. https://github.com/Mirror-Protocol/mirror-contracts/commit/56c79bafa7b2f7693653d5144e2e3aab93673695#diff-61e7453301fdb7fea66099c942a799658950c63013da0257f88b9541d30a877fR182 …https://twitter.com/csanti_95/status/1492130389254893574 …

Most Terra devs I know are either new or not very experienced with Rust (me included). Wait and see the cool stuff we will do when we learn how to actually use the language 🙃

Not sure why we need to bring back tweets from an individual dev, who in his original tweet admits he’s not experienced? This is a failure of whoever supervises / reviews the code (or doesn’t). But pretty sure the point can be made without calling someone out

Good point! @yeo_yunsuk approved this after 3 hours review. They deserve to be called out too. And sure, you can say it's not his fault, but you'll have to explain why he tried to hide the fix instead of disclosing it properly.

Oh not saying it’s not ‘his fault’ - or anyone’s. But feels a bit more witch-hunty than needed. The fault falls on TfL and their processes as a whole. Doesn’t require tagging an old tweet. It’s not like this tweet is some kind of hubris like the Do ones.

Definitely wouldn't have called him out like this if he didn't try to smuggle in the fix while he saw the bug was actively causing people anguish as their money was stuck in the contract... Again, there are responsible ways to handle these things.

That’s making an assumption my man. No need to use inflammatory rhetoric like that. There are other ways you could neutrally describe those same set of actions.

You are assuming that they knew the bug was exploited, that it was fixed quietly as a coverup. Etc. it could have been devs trying to improve their protocol code for the future. Yes, it’s most certainly a problem that mirror was seemingly hacked for $88 million.

It literally was fixed quietly. This is not in dispute. It's fact. The bug and its extent was not even mentioned in the PR title or description. No genuine person can be this obtuse. All the best.

A bug in the underlying protocol code was fixed without being announced. It had been previously exploited to drain 88 million dollars from the protocol. There. That’s a neutral way of framing it without jumping to conclusions. Your claims may be true, but you’re reaching for now

Pretty much everyone who has ever interacted with me can speak to my integrity. It may be my most important asset. And it’s why for the love of god if you have good intentions please don’t make this a witch-hunt and instead search for the truth.

Last comment on this message. FatManTerra attempted to accomplish 3 things with his message for anyone following along. 1. He took what I said, changed the wording slightly to be able to call his assertion true while he actually communicated something very subjective

          2. He distracts from the difference between the two statements by continuing his line of thought while not engaging with the rest of what I said. He keeps it concise so there are no holes to attack and to keep the engagement as short as possible.
