This tweet did not age well. The guy who wrote this? His buggy code was committed into Mirror Protocol in June 2021, creating a hole that allowed an attacker to drain $88m from users just a few months later. https://github.com/Mirror-Protocol/mirror-contracts/commit/56c79bafa7b2f7693653d5144e2e3aab93673695#diff-61e7453301fdb7fea66099c942a799658950c63013da0257f88b9541d30a877fR182 …https://twitter.com/csanti_95/status/1492130389254893574 …

Most Terra devs I know are either new or not very experienced with Rust (me included). Wait and see the cool stuff we will do when we learn how to actually use the language 🙃

For those asking why I'm calling him out - nothing wrong with a bug. What's wrong is secretly patching it through an unrelated fix while watching people despair in the Discord about losing their savings & not disclosing that the bug ever existed or what it did to contract funds.

We’re really calling devs out directly for incidents and vulnerabilities now? 🤦‍♂️

You're getting overboard here ser. Hacks happens on literally every chain for all kinds of reasons, including inexperienced devs. This is not unique to Terra.

A $88m contract hack with a quiet smuggled-in fix without disclosure to users about what happened afterwards... Definitely unique to Terra. Of course, bugs are normal, but there is a responsible way to handle disclosure, loss, etc. Not radio silence and hiding evidence.

Not sure why we need to bring back tweets from an individual dev, who in his original tweet admits he’s not experienced? This is a failure of whoever supervises / reviews the code (or doesn’t). But pretty sure the point can be made without calling someone out

Good point! @yeo_yunsuk approved this after 3 hours review. They deserve to be called out too. And sure, you can say it's not his fault, but you'll have to explain why he tried to hide the fix instead of disclosing it properly.
