I don’t think anyone needs to close office to evade tax into today’s world. The rich of the world are doing it all time with multiple offices in multiple geographical locations.

It's just cleaner to wrap up affairs and move abroad when your home country is sending officials to your offices to harass you for money that you owe them.

I wouldnt want to think it that way either, but I guess we can only find out after the investigation is completed (at least things become more transparent in some sense)
