In a way, it falls within their mandate, but I would have preferred to see an open market pegging attempt where retail can participate instead of backroom deals with profiteer counterparties. Also, the "stay strong" stuff was disgusting. He knew it was all falling apart.

How does it fall within the mandate? LFG's mandate was to defend the peg. One of the main reasons for doing transactions OTC is so that whales can *avoid* moving the market. Avoiding moving the market is the opposite of defending the peg. If this is true, it's criminal.
