Not quitting Twitter or Philly, just taking a break from social media, computers, tv and life to explore this big, beautiful world again for a while. Bringing tiny Phanatic with me for photo ops. See you in two weeks, Philly.

An incredible story of a grieving mother's incredible gift, expertly told by . "By donating his organs, she said, she could ensure that Jaseem’s killers would not get the last word. His story would not end with his murder."

A handmade wedding gift last weekend from a friend and coworker at my former paper in Williamsport who used to do cartoons and courthouse drawings. I am obsessed with it and he obviously knows I’m also obsessed with Philly. 😂

Things I had to explain to my friends and family from out of town last weekend: 1. Delco flags 2. Soft pretzel nuggets 3. Goldenberg Peanut Chews 4. Why the cheesecake at our rehearsal dinner came on bagged salad lettuce w/marshmallows. JK there’s no explanation for #4

Happy 12th birthday to our giant river otter, Thor! 🥳 His keepers threw him a birthday party complete with an ice cake filled with fish! 🎂🐟 As you can see, Thor, his sister Yeyuno and buddy Matteo know the best way to get the fish out— throwing the cake in the water! 🌊

I love, love, love this magical Philly resident. "Yes, I have fallen, but I have never broken a bone or a fingernail,”

Mafalda Thomas-Bouzy has been stilt walking on streets, runways & stages in Philly for 20+ years, ever since she picked up the artform while studying dance in Tobago. Now she's dedicated to training a new generation of Philly stilt walkers. 1/3 inquirer.com/news/philadelp

“In concrete jungles, kids need a way to look down the road & see a brighter future & stilts can do that. It gives them a super power, it gives them a responsibility, a position, a role to protect their city, to look out for their community & to be a keeper of the village.” 2/3

Honoring s.o.-turned-hubby's request to remain anonymous on all public social media platforms. Can't wait to share more details someday, but I've got to put in some work first before I head off on my honeymoon next week!

Did a thing over the weekend, and, despite the torrential downpours and comical catastrophes, it was amazing. There was a light saber battle, a Gritty ring bearer pillow, a duet, a Lego cake topper and an amazing PA historical marker homemade by my dad. It was so us.

My cousin and her husband who live near L.A. ate nothing but salmon and asparagus for dinner for like 6 months before their wedding. My s.o. and I, who get married in 4 days, had cheesesteaks for dinner last night, and will have the other half today. This is the Philly way.

As someone pointed out, it appears that it's only only streaming live online tonight, not being broadcast. So let me rephrase: Only in Philly would Jeopardy supersede a mayoral debate three weeks before an election.

If the mayoral candidates are going to supersede Jeopardy in the Philly region tonight I expect all answers to be given in the form of a question.

There's going to be a fashion show protest at City Hall against the Sixers proposed arena. Philly creativity knows no bounds.

Injured Philly firefighter Randy Ballinger, who fell 25 feet while fighting a rowhouse fire earlier this year, received a special invite to open the Adjacent Music Festival in A.C. with his punk band, Jersey Calling, this Memorial Day weekend.

The great Philly exodus known as shore season is quickly approaching. We're creating an illustration of characters you might meet at the shore and would love suggestions. It could be general (dude with Delco flag) or specific (Martha May, seagull feeder). Who should we include?

Loving this line in a story I'm currently writing: His nickname is Gritty, because he has red hair and is goofy (and because Philadelphians are ruthless).

So many of my shows are ending this week! The Mandalorian & Abbott season finales are tonight & the Picard series finale is tomorrow. 😭 I feel like the universe knew I'm getting hitched and was like "You need to focus on some other things right now." Me: "But NCC-1701-D!!!"

“So they really like to go out into the mix, so they went out into the streets of Philadelphia and also climbed poles and also became one with the people,” she said. Love that I may have seen crew members from Abbott climbing poles while covering fans on Broad Street. 🤣

This Christina Ricci & Elijah Wood pairing on Yellowjackets is sending the 90s girl in me! The entire cast is fantastic but they are killing it. The s.o. bowed out after one episode so I now refer to it as “the soccer plane crash murder death show.”
