Someone asked on Facebook why Ben's sacrifice is more traumatic than Vader's so I wrote a thread. The OT is about the (symbolic) journey of Luke from childhood to adulthood. The sacrifice/death of a parent is expected/acceptable because it's part of the cycle of life. 1/8

"A thousand generations live in you now" - I read that line from the trailer as future generations. Because Rey should love, create, and teach the children to come. But they meant a thousand generations past... because she is a vessel for ghosts...

If you try to please everyone, in the end no one will be pleased.

remember how Rian broke the legacy lightsaber at the end of TLJ, providing the perfect narrative reason for Rey to have built her own by the third movie & have it the whole film, an essential step in becoming a Jedi that Luke got to do by that point in his story

It shows that women can be in positions of power and be successful. Men can love women who arent "perfect" but are strong & independent. And a mans man can fall in love with a man. The times are a changing. It's not 2005 anymore. Thank Goddess.

Does everyone involved even realize what kind of statement they could make? The significance of these characters and relationships? Having females in these powerful roles and relationships like Saileen and Destiel?

Fast forward 15 years and we have a Queen of Hell, a woman Death, and possibly Amara as God. We have Sam in a relationship with a woman with a disability which rarely happens in TV or movies. And we also have the chance of Dean being in a same-sex relationship.

So I got thinking. When Supernatural first aired in 2005, God was a man, the King of Hell was a man, and Death was a man. Sam was dating a gorgeous, blonde hair, "Hollywood perfect" woman, and Dean was sleeping with whatever hot woman he could get.

  12. All of these are perfect. Really show why TROS' ending was so unsettling, these story comparisons. If the heroine regresses to how she was before, and the hero stays dead or is forgotten after he has saved her life and they finally shared a kiss, it kinda dismantles everything

Sorry, I’m a bit late, but I’d like to add to the collection: If Sleeping Beauty ended like TROS...

Henry Cavill knows for a fact that "amazing job" and "Chris" Terrio don't belong in the same sentence and I'm living for it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

“Rise of Skywalker also quickly stumbled after a strong start.” You know why?? Because we ALL wanted to see it, were waiting for it for MONTHS since TLJ. And WE WERE ALL DISAPPOINTED enough to not see return to theaters the multiple times we anticipated.

can't sleep, sad thinkin bout how boys growing up loving darth vader were never told that they are comparable to ted bundy idolizers. meanwhile girls who love ben solo are denounced as delusional fangirls. just...many thoughts, head full

    5. Why end it in tragedy when we already have enough tragedy in the real world?? Let's not carry real world tragedy into fantasy stories. It's fitting in some fiction, yes, but definitely not in all of it. Sometimes we need an escape from real world sh!ttiness. / End of thread.

    4. It's the end of a saga over 40 years old!! After so long, so many years of people loving Star Wars and caring about it and the Skywalkers and this world... the best ending you could possibly give such a long and epic saga is a HEA. Please. How could they miss it?
