Legless lizards have external ears (you can see this ones ear holes), eyelids, notched (rather than forked) tongues, long tails (snakes have short tails, go figure), and vestigial limbs! Surely some herpetologist will chime in here and explain better than I.

So how does it differ from a snake? I myself sort of enjoy snakes, at least the ones that are not venomous.
