    John Singleton was a true inspiration. He made movies that told our stories, and he showed us that there could be limitless possibilities for young, black, creative people. Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

    In a two and a half years we have gone from a place where diversity was celebrated, to a place where hatred, bigotry, racism rears up being nudged by a nutter in the WH. This is not okay. As a Jew, I weep for what happened in yesterday & in six months ago.

    Never have I witnessed a president, that on the day of a shooting in any sacred place of prayer, ‘A Hate Crime’, go straight to a rally to squarely place a bullseye on backs of media, pro-choice people, lock ur opponent up chants, & proudly claim separating children from parents!

    As more news comes out of Poway I cannot help but think about the fact that we have a President who saw fit on the day before the end of Passover to try to recast the deadly 2017 anti-Semitic white supremacist march as a gathering to honor a Robert E Lee. A national disgrace.

    For thirty-six years, Richard Lugar proved that pragmatism and decency work—not only in Washington but all over the world. Michelle and I send our warmest sympathies to his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing this American statesman.

    But on the other hand, Lugar's UniGov enriched the mile square of Indy by impoverishing the non-millionaires, and he supported supplying mercenaries for low intensity warfare (i.e. military action not legally requiring Congress' notice and consent) in Mozambique and other areas.

    I’m a true agnostic-atheist fatalist. I believe when it’s your time, it’s your time. So I don’t engage much in fear. But personally, I’m more concerned with being shot in some random public place by a white American dude with an AR-15 than being taken out by an illegal immigrant.
