If you have trouble identifying with the political right or left, being a centrist or moderate in the sense of being "in the middle" is not the only alternative. You're allowed to exist outside of the political spectrum. It's a concept - not a part of the fabric of space-time.

You can categorize a particular set of political or social positions as being this or that proportion of right to left, but this is limiting. Human culture is constantly evolving. There will never be one model that will be able to fit every instance of the human imagination.

Does the position of a specific political answer or moral stance on the spectrum actually influence the way you evaluate its merit? If you had no basis by which to categorize something as being closer to the right or left, would you be paralyzed, unable to form an opinion?
