Yes Jody, tho in the way that reification appears at the surface of perception for most, the nonduality mode lies for them a mere stripping away of that conceptual encrustation on the surface to reveal the quick of purity of self-aware appearance it hides, then just as you say :)https://twitter.com/Kalieezchild/status/977622378430717952 …

“Reificaiton” is the word that describes this painting.

Maybe yes or no but how does that kind of thinking help us do anything about the complex and immediate crisis of ‘gun violence in America?’
-
This what I mean about non-dual philosophies: they send you spinning into orbit around problems that don’t exist as issues in real life. Meanwhile the real world needs our care and attention.
-
If you are saying that these discussions don’t contribute to the solution, I can agree. But refraining from these discussions entirely will not improve the situation, and I would not consider them a distraction, either. YMMV.
-
I think that’s true, to some degree. But what I have often found is that people interested in non-dualism only talk about non-dualism. Same is true for Buddhism, spirituality, what have you.
-
Weird. I don't know anyone like that. Everyone I know has a rich, varied, complex life with multiple interests.
-
I second that for sure.

The brain paints conceptual objects right on the surface of awareness, which is also simultaneously nondual. It’s a matter of attention discerning and then the recognition system registering the nonduality within ordinary perception.
