To be fair, basically everyone was ingesting amphetamines like caffeine at that point, even in the US.

Fairly sure the Nazis were well ahead of everyone else in it, even so. But yes, it's funny when they add it as some sort of cultural dissonance between e.g. Americans and Nazis in fiction. It wasn't. Only the extent was.

I miss her. When I was a kid, she would send me to the hardware store with a shopping list and a few hundred dollars. I'd roll my red wagon back home stocked with acetone, ammonia, toluene, sulfuric acid, and god knows what else. Good times.
