I meant that knowing about the relationship between matter and consciousness, or quantum physics, or any other conventional philosophical or metaphysical matters wouldn't alleviate suffering.

to be clear: there is no implication of woo here - no conclusions can be drawn about past/present lives, whether mind is continuous, merit, karma, whether the objects of perception have their own essence, etc.

I assume meaning whether there is a "physical" world apart from mind (i.e. the whole pointless idealism debate in philosophy).
