Maybe a few people have woken up from "doing nothing", or seeing a lotus flower, or getting hit over the head. But for the vast majority of people, "do nothing" and "everything is already perfect" are utterly useless instructions which keep them from actually learning anything.

A major pitfall of that style/language of practice. Reminds me of the classic Milarepa story: - Dzogchenpa tell him to do nothing. - Milarepa doesn’t understand, so he does nothing. - Dzogchen teacher tells him to go and study with Marpa instead. - Milarepa becomes Milarepa.
