Writing problem: I have to cover material I've covered extensively elsewhere. Do I: 1. Tell reader to refer to other book, or 2. Do a summary, then goto 1 if they want depth, or 3. Rewrite all that material in a new way and include in new book. Which would you rather read?

I find that re-synthesizing ideas I've previously written often give rise to new angles to look at and new ways of talking about things that I may have missed before.
