      Suicide is a sticky topic for many people...largely for cultural reasons. The main reason I didn't kill myself when I wanted to is that it would devastate my mother, but I have found the acceptance of it as a possibility, freeing, in the past. (NB: I'm not suicidal, don't worry)

      Telling to note how you felt the need to insert a disclaimer that you're not suicidal. People are conditioned to immediately react to the idea of suicide as if it is the most horrible atrocity that must be stopped at all costs, under the shared presumption that suicide is bad.
