While sipping a beer out of a brown paper bag in an Alphabet City park, I observed a guy giving another dude Dzogchen thögal instruction. FYI this super-secret practice is almost never taught outside a strict retreat. And no, I didn't call the Nyingma police.

Very few would even recognize that. What does said practice involve?

resting in the nature of mind, assuming physical postures, directing the gaze in corresponding direction

I see. I did a quick look around so I think I understand how you'd have know that by observation. I'd never have noticed it. How much goes on around us all the time we're completely unaware of. :-)

yes. at first glance it may look like a yoga posture, but then one notices what it actually is, especially as there is no movement once the posture is stabilized.

Ah, yes, like one of the so called "lock" asanas of Yoga? I've read and observed that those should not be done without some training in guidance in Yoga.

They have not much in common with yoga asanas and as for guidance, there's a lot of it not just regarding the postures but the whole practice, experiences, many things. I don't know how much is on the internet. :) It's secret also in order to not spoil others relation with it.

Then I should hurry and finish up my series of Dzogchen Thögal in the Park instructional videos. Having trouble finding a celebrity who's received the instruction to serve as narrator.
