The more I see reasoning as a group project, and the less I see it as an individual endeavor, the less I am bothered by individual bias. As long as we are listening well, our bias will be easily corrected by the group.

I generally agree, but I fear that you put too much faith in the ability of groups to reliably correct for biases. It's not just individual bias; group biases exist too.

I intend to study the question of when groups tend toward group-think, and when they reason well, in the not too distant future. Both outcomes are possible.
