A new trend in the workplace: "ghosting." As in, employees just leave for a new job without telling anyone at the old job. They just don't come back. Caused by a strong economy and weak social skills. Great story by @DPAQreports.https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2018/12/12/workers-are-ghosting-their-employers-like-bad-dates/?utm_term=.d22090f6dec3 …

Also probably caused by employers treating their employees like assets rather than human beings

Strong economy and continued weak wages/benefits mean there's no incentive to show loyalty to a company that clearly doesn't value you. Wanna end ghosting? Pay high wages and bring back pensions

OR people could be mature adults and tell the current employers they got a new job and will be leaving.

Bad social skills? Maybe it’s just escaping a shit job. I’m so tired of the deferential dance I have to perform for every employer that treats me like an expendable cog.

You could just say, "I quit," and walk out. That's not being deferential. That's givin' 'em the bizness.

I'd feel bad for employers, but with Right to Work laws in Nebraska I am fine with employees saying they have a Right to Work Elsewhere.
