Another massive wave of is coming from the combination of semi-intelligent machines, better algorithms, improved cheap sensors, and more skilled manipulators.

  2. Trump’s foreign policy in Afghanistan: spend money, kill, continue policies that have failed for 2 decades, and lie. This won’t end well for America.

  3. Trump’s foreign policy is mad hubris plus threats of military force. It won’t end well for America.

  4. Is the Democratic Party repeating its 1972 electoral disaster? No. Now the Left is far more powerful and radical than in 1972. This is just their first move into national politics, like the New Right in 1964.

  10. Too early to take too seriously, but the first GDPnow forecast for Q1 GDP is 2.7%. If that proves correct, it's the best possible kick-off for Trump's election year.

Apocryphal dialog on twitter: Einstein: What I admire about your art, is your universality. You don’t say a word, yet the world understands you! Chaplin: But your glory is even greater! The whole world admires you, even though they don’t understand a word of what you say.

The good news here is by 2050 there will be precisely zero people living under a RCP8.5 scenario (except virtual people in virtual IAMs) And yet climate change is important & informed policy is critical So shouldn’t we have better information on which to ground that policy?

🤔How "contagious" or "deadly" is ? Contagious as compared to? Deadly as compared to? As you go up, disease is 'deadlier'. As you go further to the right, disease is more contagious. [h/t ]

This confirms what emphasizes- long term natural climate variations occur but are not predicted. We found this . This also shows that use of existing climate models to predict natural climate (control run) is fundamentally flawed.

First blog post at Climate Etc. on this issue was Dec 2015, by Larry Kummer. This twigged me to the issue and I have posted several articles on RCP8.5 since then

4/ Not a surprise - tweets with info from CDC and WHO get far less attention than those with wild rumors and conspiracy-mongering. A kind of Gresham's Law: low-quality info suppresses high-quality info. It's !
