  5. Dave Roberts also described Joe Kelly as “froggy” and “frisky."

  6. The Dodgers won, 6-2. They are 45-31 and have snapped a four-game losing streak. AJ Pollock and Max Muncy bashed big bombs in the eighth. The bullpen was stretched and kept the Cubs bats down for the most part. It's Julio Urías against Alec Mills tomorrow on national TV.

  7. Max Muncy homered off of Tommy Nance. 6-2, Dodgers B8.

  8. AJ Pollock took Ryan Tepera deep. First hit off a Cubs reliever this series. Dodger Stadium is, uh, quite loud. 4-2, Dodgers B8. Kenley Jansen is up.

  9. Joc Pederson got that fly ball deep enough. It’s a tie game.

  10. Dave Roberts is going to push his leverage relievers tonight, it appears. He’s gone through Victor González, Joe Kelly, David Price, Jimmy Nelson and now Blake Treinen already and it’s still the seventh inning. Dodgers clinging to a one-run lead.

  11. Willson Contreras has a cannon of an arm.

  12. Willson Contreras is staying in this game. He appeared to take a Joe Kelly sinker off of his hand. Talked to trainers, but lobbied his way to stay in. Kelly’s night is done, not without another goop check. This one involved the goggles. David Price is going back-to-back nights.

  13. The Dodgers have loaded the twice in five innings against Jake Arrieta. He’s escaped both times without allowing additional runs. 2-1, Dodgers through five.

  15. Joe Kelly entered a hairy situation when Victor González was slow to cover first on what would’ve been an inning-ending double play. He got out of it with a strikeout. This time, Kelly didn’t offer the umpires his “sick” goggles for the ensuing goop check.

AJ Pollock doubles and Justin Turner makes fun of him.

  18. Well. Tony Gonsolin is through four innings and has thrown 69 pitches. His velocity is still down (92.8 mph; was 93.9 mph entering tonight), but he’s been effective.

  19. Will Smith scalded a bases-loaded liner that had an expected batting average of .860. Instead, wound up in Ian Happ’s glove. Dodgers had a chance to bust it open early.

  20. A great sky tonight at Dodger Stadium.

  21. Zach McKinstry bopped one out to center. There appears to be a Jobu doll somewhere at Dodger Stadium, as they showed on the big screen. 2-1, Dodgers B3.
