Every decision they made was bad. In the end, the Sgt was demoted and their actions resulted in a lawsuit that’s going to see either a settlement or a verdict.

Unfortunately the police and their unions don’t care about the lawsuits because they don’t pay them. If the unions were responsible for the payouts, maybe then we’d see them start to care and hold bad cops accountable because the officers dues would have to cover these costs.
