What if we have tricked ourselves into believing we make our own decisions, rather than our subconscious urges driving our lives? My brain has a little quirk called
#aphantasia and today, during my day job@FMLabUNSW , I had my brain scanned with@Becca_Keogh_PhD. People think that you need mental imagery to be 'creative', and that without it I have no#imagination- which isn't quite true 1/2pic.twitter.com/HRH9QdT1vU

Some of these roadblocks include
#groupthink, fear of evaluation and other common cognitive biases such as#anchoring, where the first idea shared constrains all future trains of thought. Head to the blog post to read more! Yet the evidence seems to suggest that traditional popcorn brainstorming groups produce not only fewer, but poorer quality ideas than the same number of people working in isolation! (4/6)

This method, more commonly referred to today as ‘popcorn’ brainstorming (as ideas ‘pop’ everywhere), was claimed to greatly enhance creative performance in comparison to individual ideation. (3/6)

Traditional models of
#brainstorming usually ask teams to generate as many ideas as possible; prioritise unusual or original ideas; refine the ideas generated; and refrain from criticism until#ideation is over. Sound familiar? (2/6)Prikaži ovu nitHvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi -

The verdict? Venting to a third party person can help, but it may not be a one size fits all solution. Venting alone, however, can perpetuate the anger or frustration.

What does this mean? Differences in visual imagery ability are important to consider when building theories of memory & visual imagery might be a useful way of formatting information in the brain to use later when we simulate the world around us. (7/7)

He also found that this effect applied to future events, too, suggesting that remembering the past and imagining the future are relatively similar cognitive processes which both appear to rely heavily on visual imagery ability. (6/7)
