    The seven disaster recovery centers currently operating in Florida following Hurricane Michael will be closing for Christmas. All centers will close Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. and will re-open Dec. 26 at 9 a.m. local time.

    Florida’s high school graduation rate reached a 15-year high according to data released by the FL Dept. of Education. For the 2017-18 school year, statewide graduation rate rose to 86.1%, an increase of 3.8 percentage points over last year.

    Our economy continues to thrive. The Tampa area has created 243,800 new private-sector jobs since Dec. 2010 and had an unemployment rate of 3.0% for the month of November.
