I suspect blockchain-based digital assets will make virtual economies very real. People will be able to earn their entire living in virtual worlds in the next 10-15 years, changing the definition of “work” itself.

Wouldn’t there be a decrease in employment if more people were required to get a college degree for entry level positions? Also causality could be backwards where unemployment means people spend more time consuming cheap entertainment.

It's a fair point. The author argues causality because employment is going up in the older age buckets, but it's possible that's for separate reasons. I suspect both are true.
