Why am i not allowed a single fucking SHRED of privacy on the Internet. Twitter used to be so cool and safe. You didn't get banned for saying rude fucking words, you didn't have a big scary company desperately prying into your life and trying to dox you every time you log in.

Imagine some scared LGBT kid in Malaysia using twitter to escape their countries bullshit & accidentally clicking okay on this popup after missing it a thousand times previously, someone reports him, he gets a visit from the religious police & a steel baton through his teeth

If I may, are you afraid of what people might think about you if they knew about you being trans
-
since it puts our life at risk, yea obviously
-
Sorry just thought to ask
-
For many trans individuals (and indeed the rest of the LGBT+ group,) it can be very unsafe to have these parts of your life revealed publicly. They often have relatives or a community who would not accept this, and may cause them physical or mental harm, loss of job, etc.
-
Loss of life too
-
thats basically what my tweet said :v

Agree. Even if your not trans there are countless reasons you don't want IRL people you know in your Twitter life. I personally never show my face or say my name because I don't want my family anywhere near me on here. And for that matter it's fine to simply not wanting to share.
-
This is why I don't use official apps. If I can't do it through mobile browser it's not worth it. I don't even have my current phone logged in. I have to update apps manually but I think it's still worth it vs the massive privacy invasion. Not spying so much as TELLING EVERYONE.
-
Several family members wanted me on WhatsApp recently and I'm like LOL hell no I don't need my furry contacts mingled with my RL contacts it's at the point where I think I need two separate phones. I don't even really have a personal phone, this one is at least 80% business.

its an extremely not perfect solution and twitter is bad, I did find a chrome extension that blocks/removes that feature from your UI, just thought id send this alongpic.twitter.com/ZBc89FgGe5

It doesn't look like it works on the app though?
