DYK: The data show 5.8% of US high school kids vape >20 days/month, so may plausibly OWN an e-cigarette. 1/3rd are 18 (adults), smokers/ex-smokers or vaping THC (not nicotine). That's the "epidemic." No deaths. Meanwhile, 13.5% of them binge drink causing 4,300 deaths/year.

If it keeps them from smoking, so what? Worry about all the alcohol they consume. More kids drink than vape. Alcohol kills, vaping does not.

DYK: Teens vape for the mild stimulant or “buzz” just like they use alcohol at 3x the rate they vape and marijuana at twice the rate. DYK measuring experimentation and calling it an addiction is great for creating hype - tragic for public health.
