It would be nice to see some research attemoting to understand the misunderstanding of chronic pain among a significant fraction of the medical community. We just saw one MD post that he believes that all pain patients do is refill their meds and have no interest being proactive.

Of course that's false. Many MDs seem to think that everyone just sits around all day long complaining about pain. The reality is that this hell of a third world country (the US) requires even pain patients to work several jobs and still pass debt to their children.

Private medical practitioners seem not to understand this. Psychology does though: Those with wealth (as practitioners iften are) rapidly lose touch with reality, resulting in misconceptions about people whose lives aren't as carefree as theirs are.

Of course this behavior of MDs often results in insufficient (or non-existent) treatment for serious diseases which are often missed or misdiagnosed because of incompetence on their part. Of course it isnt surprising given what we know about US medicine. goo.gl/6T5uZE
