Shitty but sadly not too surprising. Someone could probably make a profile called People Who Lost Their Jobs After Tweets They Made and have content for a while.

Weird how “we are having a community conversation, not one the global public cares about” equals “screaming into the void”?

They did title the focus of their work Barren, so they seem very comfortable in identifying with emptiness.

It should be fairly uncontroversial to say much of published poetry is totally inaccessible to most people and has little greater cultural resonance. That doesn’t mean it’s not worthy, or that there aren’t other poetic cultures worth considering too.

Barren will get exponentially more engagement for this controversy than they have for any poem they’ve published in decades, but they still won’t accept that Rose was right

Well I didn’t even know this magazine existed until NOW... or for that matter, any magazine existed just to publish poetry so... you’ve def got a point there.
