Hey all, this is not meant personally or literally, it was in relation to bad tweets this morning. You have to look to the margins for good film criticism too, it's just that film has an advantage of being an "established" medium since before I was born. Games aren't so lucky.

I’m a game critic, but I’m also a book critic and a TV critic so I read and watch plenty. I’m a big fan of classic noir though I’ll admit the last non-English language film I watched before Parasite was Roma and I should do better there.

TBH this is also true of what? 80% of AAA developers? To review games you need to be familiar with Verhoeven, Cronenberg and like, I dunno, a collection of Lovecraft stories? Oh! And an HR Giger TASCHEN book.

Yeah the fact that AAA developers have very little interest in crafting interesting art in any meaningful sense of the word certainly doesn't help.
