  4. Can't remember exactly whether I was battling with Schumacher for 1st position or being lapped by him at Adelaide.

  7. The top 3 finishers take the ovation of the huge crowd on the podium

  8. Panis somehow gets his car home for 2nd and Morbidelli will join him on the podium. Lamy takes Minardi's first point of the season in 6th

  9. Damon Hill wins the Australian Grand Prix!

  10. Hill overtakes the ailing Panis to take a 2 (two!) lap lead in this race

  11. 4 laps to go and there's smoke coming from the engine of the 2nd placed car of Panis!

  12. We only have 8 cars left and Morbidelli is now on the brink of an unexpected podium finish for the Footwork team

  13. Herbert's car is on fire! Can you believe it, we have yet another retirement in this extraordinary race

  14. Irvine pits for a top-up to the air system on his Jordan but it doesn't help him and he is forced to retire from 3rd place

  15. A sticky wheel nut gives Hill a scare at his final pit stop but it is eventually sorted and he's back out

  16. Hill and Herbert are the only 2 cars on the lead lap and both of them are taking it pretty easy now with such big gaps in the field

  17. Halfway through this race and Hill leads from Herbert, Irvine, Panis, Morbidelli and Blundell

  18. Frentzen is slowing! Absolute despair for the Sauber team. Frentzen was driving a superb race and looked set for the podium

  19. Blundell badly blocks Frentzen for two whole laps and the German shows his frustration to him when he finally passes

  20. And now Berger pulls off with a smoking Ferrari. We're not even halfway yet and we only have 12 cars still running
