It's hard to overstate the extent to which petulant manchildishness revealed itself in 2018 as our ethos of power.

Brilliant. "I am so tired of the media & others trying to act like this was a normal president while explaining that he is not."

This question is the defining one of our lifetimes, do we keep on surrendering to fascism in the way of complicity and denial like Americans or do we actively try to build social democracy globally now, not easy

It’s not an easy question, this choice between fascism and social democracy, though it should be. Yet the problem is that as a world and as societies we aren’t really even grappling with it properly yet or at all

America today is kind of a harbinger of what awaits if we don’t move towards social democracy globally, we end up with the dystopian nightmares of fascism, and a population unable even to understand that much

This is a Constitutional crisis and a family emergency. We're wondering what happened to our nation—and what to people we loved and respected. Yes, our Democracy is in peril, but our relationships with are in tatters too.

From the guy who wrote the book on “juvenile, petty politics” when he was Andrew Scheer’s Director of Comms. 🙄

America’s just become ungovernable and unfixable. Like the UK, it’s a society in the process of fracturing, which effectively makes it impossible to govern as one. It’s competing sects and factions now and that’s all it is

I think now we try to understand why the american experiment failed so badly, and the reason it was kind of a joke to begin with. Freedom as slavery, equality as segregation, justice as capitalism, etc

The question now is what survives the implosion of America’s violent and brutal capitalist-fascist world. The global economy, the planet, progress, civilization, etc. It’s not looking good

It’s going to be a long, painful couple of decades. We need a new model of global prosperity and governance, which is obviously social democracy. But the shift from American capitalism-fascism to that is going to be incredibly difficult and costly

I think that one obvious lesson of the last few decades is that capitalism and democracy are fundamentally incompatible. For that reason we’ll see the fascists gaining power for the next decade at least, probably longer. Then maybe progress happens again.
