Ironically, such teachers are often very libertine, and endorse perversions that are against the spirit of the Law of God, attempting to circumvent the letter of the Law.

They impose their man-made rules or requirements on others, but find all kinds of ways to justify their sins, and are full of double standards. They are full of idolatry and trust not in God, but in the arms of the flesh. They despise anyone who does not idolise their idol.

They act as if they are righteous, but are not righteous at all. Yet they accuse those who are truly holy and righteous of being legalistic, demonstrating their utter wickedness.

Such people despise those who truly obey God, accusing them of legalism when seeing them obey God, but yet are legalists themselves. They often have a false guise of holiness, but are full of lawlessness.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.

And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
