i just got um bc it was in stock at target and people told me to get it bc i already have moon. if its just the same game i'm gonna return it

It's not the same game, there's more stuff to do. It's not an entirely new story, but an altered one. There's more Pokemon, more endgame stuff, etc. It's no different than Emerald is to R/S or Platinum is to D/P.

Different wild Pokemon, trainers Pokemon are different, a lot more fun and funny side quests in the main game, good post game, move tutors if you're into competitive battling, different boss fights (both totems and trainers) It's no BW2, but its more different than Pt/Eme/Crys

ok maybe not platinum i forgot that game actually fixed the atrocious surf speed of DP LOL. that alone warranted its own game

My verdict on it is if you're a more casual Pokemon player and are going to view the "in general" story as the same and not care for the nuanced changes, then its not for you. If you're a Pokemon fanatic and love to see the differences or dont own SM, then it is.
