Discipline is more important than passion. You probably need to challenge yourself with something new to learn more, then return to the song
I've learned a few different songs, each a bit harder than the last, but i feel like when i learn a new song i forget how to play the old

That's normal but you don't need everything under your fingers at once unless you have them all on a recital. When you come back it's easier
