Definitely for a beginner I recommend the kind that doesn't have a built-in screen, those get expensive and if you're just learning it might not be worth the cost. There's a bit of learning curve to drawing with your hand while your eyes look at the screen with these sort of things but you get used to it quick and if you grow out of it there's other models to move up to that let you draw directly on the screen.
