Will say, yume is absolutely one of the grimiest players in NE. From stage counterpicking to dark stages vs colorblind/hard of seeing players, to watching their controller when he dthrows, yume is absolutely whack

Can’t blame a guy for using all the tools given to him to win. The colorblind thing is messed up but if it was in the rules then that’s how it is. Also looking at controllers isn’t an uncommon practice, especially in melee. when he’s looking away from the screen you can swing.

he's doing it in advantageous positions where looking at the screen doesn't matter. looking at the screen does two things: inform you of where you are and where your opponent is. If he knows exactly where you both are in say, a tech chase, he doesnt need to look at the screen

Because anything you could've done would be telegraphed on the controller too. But looking at the controller lets you cheat the initial buffering frames and you can react faster. Unfair advantage.

Theres counterplay you can include here though. Stuff like wiggling the stick to throw off timings and force him to guess, since he's not looking at the screen to determine which input was read
