hi! as the ct rep in winners side top 8, i’d love it if you’d stop trying to create pointless state rivalries. they’re counterproductive. celebrate the players and their runs, not which state they’re from, especially considering we’re all new england. we’re one region, not six!https://twitter.com/ExciIed/status/1117965220402597888 …

come on now, its really not that deep. if you see it as pushing each other away instead of friendly rivalry that pushes each other to get better, thats on you. we all come together to push each other to be better

^This Rivalries push people to be better, to grow stronger. MA kicked butt last night? Good, return the favor and show us what your state can do. This is not tearing each other down, this is preventing complacency.

personally, i feel like i’m harmed by rivalry more than helped. i don’t handle confrontation well. i think it’s better to celebrate player accomplishments and build each other up as a region rather than promote the whole “haha i’m better than you” thing.

Okay but that’s clearly not what his Tweet was going for. He was pointing out that MA has 3 players in Top 8 at a CT dominated event, which it did. It wasn’t tearing CT down it was building MA up.

By that logic if I were to Tweet “Hey Blank good job beating Kairos last night, good stuff!” Would that be tearing you down?

that’s promoting player accomplishments, not promoting regional rivalry. i view it differently. idk. y’all can push the rivalry stuff if you want. but as a whole, i think it to be counterproductive, and i’m not the only one who feels this way.

Honestly it would be healthier if people stopped claiming state accomplishments when a player from the region does well. This whole debacle would much better if we say for instance.. "Wow, @BobbyWasabiSN,
@WildfireMuse, and@Pelca_ did great at that CT weekly!2 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

i think it’d be so much better for ne if we just started supporting player growth as opposed to state rivalry stuff y’all are welcome to do what you want but that’s just me

i think it’s great how well NE bands together at these events! but why bother beefing at weeklies when we can promote player growth and celebrate their individual successes at a local level?

If we see New England as a family, The sibling rivalry thing is natural. People are better than others, that's just how it is. The part that hurts is when you tie their skill to their state, it's almost like an identity. Would you truly not be put off if this tweet was reversed?
