Must been thrown off by the other tournaments thrown in there. Still closer to something like gums than something like GUTS, and GUTS was definitely not a major...

yes, some guts were regionals, which is why i said it also depends on size/attendees, but even then overclocked has had more attendees than any gums ever

Not gums, GUTS, at Mohegan Sun. Also I thought the first mall location had more entrants than any of the overclockeds and only got beat out by the SOTH arcadian. You have the numbers handy for overclocked records?

I THINK some of the earlier gums beat both of those numbers, I just remember SOTH was the only one that hit 256

Yeah, mixed up the oc2 numbers, you right. I still think you need a borderline 2 day event for it to be a regional level. Main reason I include GUTS was because it had multiple games with smash as a main event still. Total entrants across games was way more, even if not sm4sh

Regional means everyone from the region, and even gums with fucking 90 people was considered a regional, because a lot of nepr / state pr were in attendance EVERY overclocked has had most NEPR, AND state pr, AND OoR presence, AND had multiple PGR. Gums has never been a pgr event

Regional means solid representation from everyone in your part of the country. If we got not-just-PR presence from tri state, or MD/va presence. What you describe is just a big monthly

A big monthly is gums, period. They would consistently get 70-100 attendees, OCCASIONALLY geting more than 140, which would make it a regional. But the times that happened were FAR less than it having <100 entrants. Gums:A that had 192 would be a regional, but not Gums:B with 70
