Because I have a lot of followers and I get mentioned by in posts by people that have a lot of followers, I have my notifications muted unless a mutual tags me. Otherwise my phone would blow up with Twitter Notifications every day for no reason.

Because of the way the search function works, whether or not you put the @ sign, it will come up in my search if you type my full tag. If you want to subtweet me behind my back without me seeing it, you can just type Pierce.
