    From Monero’s perspective: I don’t think anyone will ever stop trying to improve on-chain scaling by reducing tx sizes, improving block/tx propagation etc., but second-layer solutions are necessary for scaling beyond those capabilities, and are necessary for maximal privacy.

    The is designed for small transactions and is meant to work in tandem with transactions on Layer 1. Fees on are determined by hubs/hops (it's near zero), whereas fees on Layer 1 are determined by "weight." Use the right tool for the job.

    Lightning is doing great, but this is slightly misleading. It's still not ideal for larger transactions. See more here:

    Don't forget that is also desperately looking at layer 2 scaling as they have serious scaling issues - to the point where full nodes cannot keep up anymore. Also lead dev has also said Monero will need a second layer to scale.

    If you think BTC with its full block, high fee policy will be able to maintain market share, you are mistaken. It won’t, and it is time to move on to other things.

    75% of the people CNBC interviews about crypto had little to no involvement before the 2017 boom. Meanwhile, there's people who have been here for years, and have vastly more experience and understanding of blockchain.
